A major departure from earlier jazz-based work, The Offering finds Lucas Michailidis in a truly solo acoustic setting, sans vocal accompaniment or overdub. The extensive and unconventional use of guitar tunings provide the music with a fresh, melodically driven approach that is free of cliche.
